Getting started
Can is a realtime kanban board for small teams: workspaces hold boards, boards hold columns, and columns hold tickets. Everything you change shows up for everyone else as it happens, on every open tab.
Can uses your Google account. Open can.randomfact.com, choose Log in, and complete the Google sign-in prompt. There is no separate password to manage.
The first time you sign in, Can walks you through creating your first workspace: pick a name and a short URL slug (for example acme, giving your workspace the address can.randomfact.com/acme). If you arrived through an invite link instead, you join that workspace directly and skip workspace creation.
Create your first board
From your workspace page, choose New board and give it:
- A key — 3 to 5 uppercase letters, like
LAUN. Ticket ids are built from it:LAUN-1,LAUN-2, and so on. - A name — like "Launch plan".
- A visibility —
private(workspace members only) orpublic(anyone with the link can read; only members can write).
Every new board starts with four columns: To Do, In Progress, Done, and Won't Do. Rename, recolor, reorder, add, or delete columns to fit how you work.
Add tickets
Press C anywhere on a board to create a ticket, or use the add button at the bottom of a column. A ticket needs only a title to start; open it any time to add a Markdown description, tags, an assignee, and comments.
Tickets you are not ready to schedule can go to the board's backlog instead of a column — a separate list reachable from the left drawer.
Invite your team
Workspace admins can invite people from the workspace settings page (/your-slug/settings): choose the role (admin or member), select Create invite, then select Copy invite link on the new invite and send that link. Invite links are single-use and can carry an optional expiration.
